Teacher preparation

Step 1: Ask your students to think about some of the ways they can reduce energy. Write these ideas down onto the board.

Step 2: Once you have a reasonable number of ideas, ask your students to create pages for an energy saving book. Each student can design one page. You may wish to provide student with a pre-formatted page with lines to write the text. For students that have not reached the level necessary for writing text by copying from the board, the teacher can write the page and the student can illustrate it.

Step 3: Once the book has been produced, keep it in a prominent place for a week or two and then consider allowing student to take turns in taking it home each night to read with their parents.
