Resilient Australia - How can we use technology to fight bushfires?

Australian Curriculum content descriptions: 

Year 5 & 6 Design and Technology:

• Generate, develop and communicate design ideas and processes for audiences using appropriate technical terms and graphical representation techniques (ACTDEP025).

Relevant parts of Year 5 & 6 Design and Technology achievement standards: Students describe how design and technologies contribute to meeting present and future needs. Students create designed solutions for each of the prescribed technologies contexts suitable for identified needs or opportunities.

Syllabus outcomes: ST3-5WT.

General capabilities: Critical and Creative Thinking.

Level of teacher scaffolding: Low – support students in independent research and design work.

• A device capable of creating audio-visual recordings, such as an iPad or camera
• A device capable of presenting a video to the class
• Student Worksheets – one copy per student
