Lesson Summary

Students will research the impact and consequences of racist attitudes and behaviours in professional Australian sports. They will learn about a victim or perpetrator of racism in the sporting field and how their experience has impacted their mental health and future opportunities.

It is recommended that this lesson is delivered as part of the Tackling Racism Through Sport unit. This will help students to strengthen their understanding of these concepts and inspire them to have healthy and constructive conversations about race and racism. It may also support students to challenge racist behaviours and attitudes in themselves and others.
