Introduction

'Water, water, water.' There’s so much talk about water. And is it any wonder why? This stuff is amazing! It keeps us alive, and it keeps our planet alive. Without it our lives would be very dull (and dry). We have to be careful with water. Not just about how we use it so we don’t waste it, but also how we use it safely.

Activity outline

The task for your students is to draw a picture or poster for the smaller kids at your school reminding them about water saving and safety. Encourage your students to take their poster to a class of younger students and talk to them about why they have chosen the messages that they have and why they are important.

Some ideas your students might want to include in their poster include:

• Drink lots of water every day. We need water to keep us healthy.

• Water is fun! It is a great way to cool down on a hot day, is great for exercising in, and great for just mucking around in.

• Make sure that the water we use
