Blue Water Empire offers a unique and compelling insight into the history of the Torres Strait Islands, spanning from pre-colonial times to the present. Through the voices of the region's men and women, the series explores how Torres Strait Islanders have preserved their cultural heritage amidst 200 years of European settlement. It delves into the impact of government policies, their resistance, and strikes, while also showcasing contemporary Torres Strait Islander life and notable figures like George Mye and Eddie Mabo. Above all, the conclusion celebrates the unwavering resilience and resistance of the Torres Strait Islander people as they strive to reclaim their Blue Water Empire.
