2023 School Events and Awareness Days

Welcome to the 2023 schools event calendar!

Awareness events are an awesome way to get kids, parents and educators involved in meaningful learning! We have aligned each awareness event or day with a package of free curriculum-aligned resources, aimed to get the whole school involved. From Harmony Day to STEM day, you can use these resource to teach lessons that help kids build empathy and make change in their local community.

International Day of Women & Girls in Science

February 11

The world needs science, and science needs women and girls. Today, just 30 per cent of researchers worldwide are women, and only 35 per cent of all students enrolled in STEM related fields of study are women. Check out these resources below to get involved.

Cisco GPS – Using Technology for Good – HASS – Years 3 & 4

Students explore the role of technology in developing solutions to real world problems. They begin by exploring what is meant by the term ‘technology’. They then look at how technology is used in the real-world problem presented in the Global Problem Solvers series. 

STEAM – Transforming Data
– Years 7 & 8

 Students will investigate the concept of using photographic or mosaic art as a type of infographic designed to share statistics with the public and send powerful messages about chosen issues.

The Leadership: Improving Gender Equality In The Workplace
– English – Year 10

Students will consider the progress that has been made in issues affecting women in STEM, using clips from the documentary feature film, The Leadership as inspiration.
