Turn your recycling efforts into classroom learning by accessing our online lesson plans and digital resources. Each lesson is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and includes hands-on, student-centred learning activities that are fun and engaging.

This suite of over 12 lessons are mapped to Year 5 & 6 outcomes of the Australian Curriculum for English, Geography, Science, Drama and Music. 

Featuring two interactive whiteboard lessons, and two NAPLAN* preparation lessons, an interactive recycling app and school project planning these lessons will support teachers in participating in the Schools Recycle Right Challenge for Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week.

  • Renewable and nonrenewable resources
  • Life cycles of paper and aluminium 
  • Product stewardship and the value of personal contribution to the community
  • Mobile phone recycling and impacts on the environment
  • School waste management systems surveys
  • Introduction to the 4r’s (reduce, reuse, recycle, recover)
  • Planning, drafting and writing a persuasive piece
  • How resources can be recovered, whilst rethinking the concept of waste
