This comprehensive unit has been created to complement classroom learning in support of the Fanfare Competition. Through a series of collaborative learning activities students build their aural and technical skills while exploring music as an art form through listening, composing and performing. Students are encouraged to apply their learning by creating their own composition to enter into the competition.

Each lesson provides a clear and practical teaching approach, including comprehensive teacher advice and specific student resources required for use in the classroom. The lessons are designed to cater for a range of musical abilities and to be accessible for all students in your music class. Digital elements such as apps and YouTube clips are used to inspire curiosity and engage students in the wondrous world of music. The learning outcomes are designed to build knowledge, understanding, skills and values essential for all students to succeed in and beyond their schooling.
