Developed in partnership with the film Dying To Live, this English 7–10 unit has has been designed to assist students in understanding a current social issue and to teach students the importance of language when exploring personal experience. Students are given opportunities to develop the important literacy skills of analysing and creating persuasive and narrative texts.
The unit explores the complex issue of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in Australia using key messages from the documentary film Dying to Live. The film aims to raise awareness of the social, physical and emotional effects of being on the organ donor waiting list and dispel myths about organ and tissue donation.
