This unit contains three lessons for Year 3-4 and is designed to support you and your students to produce quality artworks for the MobileMuster Schools Competition. The 2023 MobileMuster Schools Competition is open and the theme is ‘Inspiring Recycling Action’. Students can choose between creating a drawing, photograph or short film, in any style or genre.

Artworks should aim to encourage the community to recycle their old or unused mobile phones. The environmental benefits gained from recycling mobile phones are: avoiding future greenhouse gas emissions, saving energy, protecting the environment and conserving natural resources.

MobileMuster is the product stewardship program of the mobile phone industry and is accredited by the federal government. It is voluntarily funded by all of the major handset manufacturers and network carriers to provide a free mobile phone recycling program in Australia to the highest environmental standard. The program is committed to raising awareness and educating the community on why it is important to recycle. For information about the Schools Competition, visit the MobileMuster website.
